We love, love, love a rainy day. There is something so magical in the mood, the smell, and the cozy light to stay inside all day. When I was a kid, I used to build a fort under the kitchen table and collect all my favorite things to hang out there with me all day. Rainy day vina dates are sort of like that: a series of our favorite ways to pass a rainy day with your new best friend.
FORAGE FOR SNACKS
Make a grocery store run (or use one of those new fancy apps that does it for you). Stock up on everything that you’ll need from La Croix to wine, popcorn and peaches, sandwich fix-ins, and lots of chocolate. Prepare everything and feast picnic style on the floor.
GO STAR GAZING ON NETFLIX
Have an actor-focused movie marathon. This is a marathon where you watch movies throughout an actor’s career. The best for this sort of thing: Ryan Gosling, Miles Teller, and for a lot of obscure humor and action, Nicolas Cage. You can even search by the actor on Netflix.
LEARN SOMETHING NEW
Pull up YouTube and learn how to French braid each others’ hair or do fancy eyeliner tricks. Maybe start crocheting a scarf for the next rainy day.
GET BAKED
Your house will be cozy and warm and smell like sweet, sweet heaven. Try baking something new or go gluten free. Make extra goodies to deliver to your neighbors or to bring into work the next day.
FIND YOUR INNER ETSY
Turn on some mellow tunes like Lana Del Rey. Bust out a coloring book and get your crafternoon on. Channel your inner junior high girl and make a mood board collage.
START A BLOG OR REVAMP IT
A rainy day can be a great excuse to get a lot done. Having someone around for a work day can be both the best motivator and the best kind of distraction. Log on and get to work!
RUN AROUND IN THE RAIN
Run around in the rain. Just because it’s raining doesn’t mean you have to stay in the house all day! Run barefoot through the backyard like in a Nicholas Sparks movie. While you’re at it, take cute Instagram pictures of each other!
