KENECIA LASHAE: “WHY TRAVELING MAKES ME FEEL BRAVE”

Kenecia Lashae is the latest babe we’re featuring from the free web series currently airing, The Luxe Woman’s Travel Guide, and get ready, because this vina is on 🔥! As the creator of Passport 2 Pretty (P2P), which is the digital passport to hot topics on travel, beauty, and culture, Kenecia Lashae is a travel enthusiast who is thrilled to dish about her explorations with viewers. Read about her journey below!

Q: How does P2P empower women?
A: P2P empowers women by encouraging women to travel the world and thrive the Pretty Life. This means gorgeous monuments, difficult treks and delicious plates of food because I want women to know they can do it too.

Q: Have you seen friendships form through your platform?
A: I have seen friendships form on my platform because women are rooting for each other. I have hosted meet ups and I see the connections for myself. It’s very authentic and I feel confident that the women are sharing experiences and that is what it’s all about!

Q: What kind of friendships have you made on your travels?
A: On my travel, I make one of a kind bonds that I don’t think I would make in my hometown. Technology allows us to stay in touch and they are always willing to offer me their support.

Q; How have you noticed your friendships changed since you began jetsetting?
A: I must admit that my friends back in the states don’t always get the updated version of me. My journey requires me to be in the moment to experience the abundance of culture, languages and art on a daily basis.

Q: How does traveling empower you?
A: Travel empowers women to be brave and to show other women that we can be powerful worldwide. We are vast in our thoughts, interests, body and culture. However, we are all united through womanhood.

martha-dominguez-de-gouveia-747676-unsplash.jpg

Q: If you were to host a VINA open plan in the next place you traveled to, what would the plan be and why?
A: Egypt would be an amazing place to because of the rich history of female rulers and leaders. I found it interesting to know how women groomed, bathed and managed their periods during those times. Cleopatra was a queen boss with beauty that many try to replicate to this day.

Q: What about your job empowers you?
A: I love sharing my experiences in text or photos to encourage other women to travel and see the world. I never get bored or feel lonely because the world is truly my oyster.

Q: What female inspires you and why?
A: I’m inspired by Beyoncé Giselle Knowles Carter without a doubt! Her hard work ethic, dedication to her craft and beauty are goals!

Be sure to sign up to watch the web series here—you’ll get a new video in your inbox every morning! Thanks for chatting with us, Kenecia! NAGINA ABDULLAH OF LUXE WOMAN’S TRAVEL GUIDE: “WHY MY DREAM VINA NIGHT INVOLVES COOKING”

Are you loving the Luxe Woman’s Travel Guide as much as we are? Good! Because today, we have our exclusive chat with Nagina Abdullah, who’s the founder of Masalabody.com and was featured in one episode. Nagina is full of inspiring insight and empowering advice—check out our Q&A to hear what drives Nagina to chase her dreams!✨

Q: How is the Malasa Body regime empowering for women?
A: My company  gives women control over their bodies and energy. I teach women how what they eat impacts them and how to change it simply by putting the right real food into their bodies.

Q: What woman inspires you and why?
A: Sara Blakely, Founder and CEO of Spanx, billionaire, because she kept failing until she won. She got in front of people to pitch her idea and never hid behind a structure.

Q: How have you noticed your friendships change since you began Masala Body?
A: I noticed that I have become more conscious of the people I spend time with. I’ve been aware of the ideas others have and how they influence me, just by being around them. So I put a lot of effort into surrounding myself with other ambitious, entrepreneurial and or success-seeking, and happiness-creating people.

katie-smith-104748-unsplash.jpg

Q: If you were to host a VINA open plan, what would the plan be and why?
A: I would host my Masala Cooking Party! This is a party where I bring women together, and I set out the ingredients for a spicy, healthy meal. We all cook together and learn how easy it is to make healthy, delicious dishes. Then, we enjoy eating it together while talking about the challenges and potential solutions in becoming healthier while living busy lives.

Be sure to sign up to watch the web series here—you’ll get a new video in your inbox every morning! Want to connect with other vinas who are interested in eating healthy as well? We have a Vegans & Vegetarians community and a Foodies community on VINA—check them out now!

JENNIFER LACHS OF THE LUXE WOMAN’S TRAVEL GUIDE: “WHAT TRAVELING HAS TAUGHT ME”

Have you been watching the free online series, The Luxe Woman’s Travel Guide?! Hosted by Nathalia Chin, the show gives an inside look on how chic vinas relish, reconnect and recharge at posh locations around the world. You can sign up to watch the series here—you’ll get a video emailed to you every morning!

The VINAZINE will be featuring an amazing vina from the show so you can get to know her story better. First up, we have Jenny Lachs, who’s the founder of Digital Nomad Girls.

Q: What woman inspires you and why?
A: At the moment, I’m obsessed with Priya Parker and her book, The Art of Gathering. Her multicultural background and experience as a facilitator are absolutely fascinating and as a community leader, I love what she teaches about gatherings. We often take events like dinners, conferences, birthday parties completely for granted and it’s so interesting to learn how to design and create gatherings with more impact and joy.

Q: What kind of friendships have you made on your travels?
A: What I love about traveling is that I get to meet people who I would have never had the chance to meet if I’d stayed at home. When I lived in London studying chemistry, all my friends were also doing chemistry PhDs. Now, I have friends of all ages and backgrounds, from all different cultures and with completely different outlooks on life. Since launching my community, Digital Nomad Girls, most of the friends I have made are women, which is something I’ve never experienced like this before. What all of them have in common is that they’ve broken away from the standard life society tells us we should pursue and they’re all dreamers and doers. Whenever I come up with a crazy new idea, my friends react with ‘awesome’  or ‘do it’, they never try to discourage me or question why I wanted to try something new.

priscilla-du-preez-363211-unsplash.jpg

Q: How have you noticed your friendships change since you began jet-setting and if so, how have they changed?
A: Of course, some of my friendships from home have changed a lot. Before I started traveling five years ago, I had already lived abroad for almost five years, so I had changed a lot since leaving Munich, which is where I’m from. Traveling opens your eyes to so many new experiences and cultures that it’s hard not to change. And sadly, many people are scared of change or mistrust it, so some friendships have faded out a little. But at the same time, there are some core friendships back home that have gotten stronger despite the distance and even if we spend less time together.

Q: How does traveling empower you and women in general?
A: Traveling empowers me because I have to step out of my comfort zone all the time. Even after five years on the road, there are always new situations and experiences that challenge me and my beliefs. Travel empowers women because it strengthens your confidence and fosters gratitude. It also shows you what is really important to you in your life and what isn’t actually that important, often this can be quite surprising.

Q: If you were to host a VINA open plan in the next place you traveled to, what would the plan be and why?
A: I’m going to Colombia next so probably a game of Tejo. I hear it’s a throwing game like horseshoes but there’s gunpowder involved. It sounds pretty crazy but fun.

Q: What about your job empowers you?
A: I get to talk to strong, smart, funny, crazy, wonderful women every single day during our virtual coworking sessions, goal setting workshops or Live Q&As. I sometimes have to pinch myself to remember this is my job now. I am extremely extroverted so I thrive on community and conversations, which means I constantly feel energized. At the same time, I am providing a supportive and friendly community for girls who often feel very lonely as digital nomads. I am grateful that my community helps them and proud that I am building something that’s meaningful.

Q: How does Digital Nomad Girls empower women?
A: DNG empowers women by creating a safe and honest space for them to meet other women. It’s so important to learn from people who already have what you want and to be able to identify with them, so that’s part of what we provide. We also empower women by being an honest and authentic voice in the digital nomad world which can be quite loud and all about ‘hustling’ and ‘crushing it’, so we want to counterbalance that and show that there are other ways to live this life. We bring women together online through our membership and offline through our retreats, we help them make friends, stay productive, feel less lonely and turn this crazy lifestyle into something that’s sustainable and won’t burn them out within a few months.

Thanks, Jenny! Be sure to follow her adventures on Facebook.

“I KNOW SO MANY WOMEN PUTTING ALL THEIR ATTENTION INTO THEIR CAREERS AND NEGLECTING THEMSELVES”—NATHALIA CHIN OF LUXE WOMAN’S TRAVEL GUIDE’S CALL TO ACTION

We are so happy to introduce you to the host and creator of The Luxe Woman’s Travel Guide, Nathalia Chin. The free web series (sign up to watch it here!) gives an inside look on how chic vinas relish, reconnect and recharge at posh locations around the world—and Nathalia opened up to us about why traveling is so important to her, what inspired her to start the series, and what her dream VINA plan is!

Read on for more!

Q: What inspires you to bring together girl bosses from around the world? What has this taught you about friendship?
A: Coming from a corporate 9-5 position, I have seen many women putting all their attention into their careers and neglecting themselves. I noticed from my own friendships, when a woman travels, there is a magic she experiences that is so incredible, she comes back to life feeling invigorated and more connected to herself. What this has made me realize about friendships is that we are all the same—fabulous, professional, ambitious women and this is our time to have exactly what we want and how we want.  More women need friendships that align with these values and beliefs so we can be a world of fabulous women who have it all, together!

Q: We agree! So if you were to host a VINA open plan in the next place you traveled to, what would the plan be and why?
A: I would host a fabulous VINA event in the beautiful island of Bali, Indonesia, where us ambitious women can have an EAT, LOVE, PRAY experience, being pampered and waking up to morning meditation and yoga every day. We would visit the Sacred Monkey Forest, dine on luxury local cuisine, and basque in the hidden sacred temples that are decorated perfectly around the island.

jeremie-cremer-4419-unsplash.jpg

Q: How does traveling empower you?
A: Traveling is empowering because it allows women to discover the true essence and beauty that is inside them. Those moments of pause allow them to reconnect, learn more about what they would like to create in their lives, fall in love with themselves, and discover the fun, exciting woman they always knew they were.

Q: How have you noticed your friendships change since you began jet setting?
A: All my girlfriends are super ambitious, and when we plan a trip, they are so focused and busy, they forget we have a trip coming up. They wait until the last minute to pack because they are consumed with work and overstressed, but there is something magical that happens when they step off the plane onto our destination. The layers of stress, worry, and fear are stripped away and they light up and are present. They become Goddesses!

Q: What kind of friendships have you made on your travels?
A: I have met so many incredible people during my travels that have taught me to be present and enjoy the moment. I learn so much from them as we share ideas and I get to connect to the incredible woman I am and they get to see that too!

Q: What woman inspires you?
A: All of my girlfriends inspire me in many different ways, but the one woman that gave me the foundation to my life and everything I do is my mom, and I will forever be indebted to her love, drive, and passion for life.

Thanks, Nathalia! Vinas, make sure you tune into the series by signing up at this link. You’ll get episodes in your inbox every morning!🛩☀️💃Want to find friends to travel with? Download Hey! VINA now and start swiping!
