Halloween is sooooo much more fun when you can coordinate with your best vina. So this season, why not pair up and take on the town as a dynamic female duo?!
Here are a few DIY costume ideas that are easy to recreate with items you most likely already have in your closet… because let’s face it, time’s running out and who wants to spend an arm and a leg on a costume that someone’s fake blood is going to inevitably ruin?
ROMY AND MICHELE
What to wear for Michele: The 90’s have made a huge come-back, so look for a pink dress that’s iridescent or something with a feather trim. Complete the look by wearing a high half-ponytail, platform sandals and of course, a choker.
What to wear for Romy: Look for a blue mini-dress or skirt and pair it with some silver heels. Part your hair down the middle and ask your BFF to borrow one of her bedazzled chokers.
Attitude: Confidence is key, so own these throwback looks like you’re impressing old friends you haven’t seen in ages. (If that doesn’t work, tell them you invented Post-It’s)
GLORIA STEINEM AND DOROTHY-PITMAN HUGHES
What to wear for Gloria: Get out those denim flares, a turtleneck and some color-lens aviators to copy Gloria’s iconic look. (Oh, you’re also going to need a huge can of hairspray.)
What to wear for Dorothy: Pair another solid turtleneck with some large hoop earrings and a picket sign with an empowering feminist message on it.
Attitude: Throw your fists in the air with strength and confidence. The future is female!
THELMA AND LOUISE
What to wear for Thelma: You’ll need a pair of shades (we suggest cat eye or aviator frames), light wash boot-cut jeans, a graphic black tank top (or an old t-shirt you can cut the sleeves off of) and a pair of cowboy boots.
What to wear for Louise: Grab a pair of blue jeans, a white tank top and a cowboy hat. And don’t forget the classic red bandana tied around your neck.
Attitude: Bold, fun, and free-spirited with a little vengeance – you are on the run after all.
SERENA AND VENUS WILLIAMS
What to wear for Serena: Grab your Nike gear since this champion is sponsored by the iconic swoosh. A tennis racket and trophy to accessorize will complete this look.
What to wear for Venus: A white dress or skirt, tennis racket and visor will have you ready to hit the court…or at least look like it.
Attitude: Competitive but supportive of one another…and always with a big smile!
ABBI AND ILANA
What to wear for Abbi: Look for a polka-dot or striped shirt, light jacket, jeans and sneakers. Oh, and don’t forget the beanie!
What to wear for Ilana: A backwards baseball hat, a mesh jersey, short shorts and some ankle boots will do the trick.
Attitude: Like true best friends that have nothing to hide from each other – or the rest of the world. YAAAAASSS, Queen.
