Lena Waithe is arguably the best part of Master of None. Our ultimate girl crush is a down-to-earth, hard working vina that I’d love to have margaritas with. There are so many cool things about her that it was tough picking my top reasons, but here ya go anyway!

When Lena is on screen, all eyes are her. Her magnetic smile and strong, quiet presence radiates from the screen. She steals every scene she’s in, so it’s no wonder she’s a fan favorite on the Netflix hit, Master of None.
SHE’S GOT WRITING CHOPS
Lena has scored an Emmy nomination for co-writing the Master of None ‘Thanksgiving’ episode, which was one of the most groundbreaking episodes of television for queer folks and was hailed for its authenticity. Congrats Lena, you deserve it!

Way to go, Lena! She was one of the first African American woman to come out on television. The episode mentioned above was beautiful and will stand the test of time for its profound impact.
