The worst feeling in the world is knowing how much you have to do. More often than not, we feel as though we are completely incapable of starting on anything. When you willingly do all the laundry and/or clean your room over homework or bill paying , you know you have a bad case of procrastination. Somedays you really cannot get your booty out of bed no matter how many things you have to do. So here’s how you make it easier to make yourself motivated.

FIRST THINGS FIRST…
Sometimes the idea of it all seems like a bigger task to undertake than it actually is. First things first, make a list. Don’t let your imagination get the best of you, and create a visible, tangible list. Organization is the key to success and getting organized is much easier than simply starting on your actual tasks.
THINK SMALL
Instead of looking at a long, daunting list and thinking you have to do it all right that second, start small. Sometimes the worst part is taking that one tiny step off the start line. Don’t expect yourself to start and finish a task in one sitting, because you’ll have an incredibly hard time even beginning. If you sit down to simply finish something you have already begun, you are more likely to feel like you can do it.
CELEBRATE YOURSELF
Don’t forget to treat yo self after even the smallest tasks. Sometimes the hardest part about little tasks is that in comparison to the big picture, you don’t feel like you’ve even made a dent in the list. It’s important to remember that every pit stop along the way is worth something. If you don’t celebrate the small stuff, how on earth are you going to acquire the motivation to do the rest? I’m notorious for rewarding myself too often, and for too minuscule achievement. Like I get four skittles (of the berry variety) for every math problem I accomplish; but it definitely motivates me to finish the next one.

GET SOME FRIENDS IN YOUR CORNER
Surround yourself with people who will inspire you and bring you up, not you do be less than you are. Remember that having friends smarter than you is a good thing, because it will influence you to expect more from yourself. If you are around motivation oriented, focused people, it will rub off on you. That energy is just as infectious as procrastination.
