Indianapolis-dwellers! Check out our ideas for dates with your vina!

Indianapolis is hopping, vinas! Don’t let it’s old, outdated nickname “Naptown” fool you— there’s a ton to do with your friends around this gorgeous city.

ENJOY BROAD RIPPLE

Calling all vinas who live for vintage vibes and the arts— Broad Ripple is the place to be. You can easily spend a few hours in the area between the shops, restaurants, parks, and night scene. Grab afternoon tea at the Cake Bake Shop, a cute little spot that features delicious baked goods; it’s a perfect spot to get to know your new bestie. Broad Ripple even hosts music and arts festivals all throughout the year, so keep an eye on their calendar to find something you’ll both really enjoy.

EXPLORE DOWNTOWN INDY

Looking to chill? Grab a coffee and take a stroll along the canal downtown. You can even take a bike ride around the Cultural Trail by using the Pacers Bikeshare program. Bikes are available all over downtown along the trail, and you can purchase a 24-hour or annual pass, depending how often you want to take advantage of the bikes. Pro tip: check your bike in every 30 minutes to avoid those additional fees.

Free on Fridays for lunch? Hit up Georgia Street for Food Truck Friday in the summertime. Local restaurants are featured from 11AM – 2PM, and it’s a great way to discover local delicacies and spend your lunch hour getting to know your new pal. Get ahead of the game and check out the available restaurants ahead of time so you can spend less time looking and more time chatting with your vina!

GET ARTSY

Book a date at Wine & Canvas. I love this place so much, and it’s perfect for two, three, or even 10 of your closest gals. I actually hosted my bridal celebration there this spring, and it was a blast! Indianapolis has two locations, one on the north side of the City and one on the south, so you’ll be able to find the most convenient place to meet. Seats are typically $35 and the canvas/painting supplies are included (unfortunately, you’ll have to pay extra for the booze and snacks). Check out their calendar to find a painting you like before you book and don’t worry, you don’t have to be crazy-artistic to enjoy— they have artists walk you through the painting step by step to help you create your very own masterpiece.

Yo Indy Vinas! Where do you enjoy spending time with your gals? Put those spots in the comments below for other vinas who want to get the most out of Indianapolis! Download Hey! VINA if you want to find other Indy locals!
