5 SMALL CHANGES TO GET YOU FEELING ORGANIZED AF

It's time to get our sh*t together, are you in?

For us college gals, it’s starting to get to finals time, and for you vinas out there IRL, it’s almost five months post the naïve promises of New Year’s day, which means: we could all use some organization tips, like, yesterday. It’s easy to look around and think you’re the only who’s life isn’t perfectly put-together. Want in on a secret? Most of us are scrambling around, just trying to get through our days.

Luckily, I’ve picked up some tips and tricks from the gals in my life who just get sh*t done.

WAKE UP EARLY ENOUGH TO GIVE YOURSELF TIME

Yeah, I know, this one seems like a no-brainer. But it’s easy to push that snooze but just one too many times, and then suddenly you’re rushing around to get ready in twenty minutes and throwing your shoes on as you’re walking out the door.

Instead, try to go to bed at a realistic time, especially if you don’t usually get some z’s until 2 or 3 a.m. Aim to be sleeping, phone locked, by at the latest, midnight. The more sleep you get, the less stressful your mornings will be.

SCHEDULE OUT YOUR DAYS BEFORE THE DAY BEGINS

If you’re a to-do list kinda girl, this tip is for you. I’ve heard stories of extreme success from women who simply take 5-10 minutes each night to organize their next day. Create some goals for yourself and try to accomplish at least 75% of them. Don’t beat yourself up if you don’t do it perfectly the first few weeks.

When you’re done with the day, check off what you accomplished. There’s something so satisfying of getting to make that little check mark.

Bonus tip! Try bullet journaling – I wrote a post about that here.

CLEAN & REARRANGE YOUR DESK

Sometimes all you really need is a clean, organized desk space. Take some time to “research” desk inspiration – my favorite places are Instagram and Pinterest. Design your own little space that helps you to feel inspired and motivated.

ANSWER EMAILS WHILE YOU EAT BREAKFAST

I’ll never understand why, but answering emails really sucks.

Alright, so if you’re a momma and/or breakfast is your special time with your S.O., this might not work out for you, but for those of us that are single AF and anti-morning, this could actually work.

By answering your emails first thing in the morning, you’ve allowed yourself to get one of the most tedious parts the morning done, and created more time to get started on things you actually like to do. Try it a few times to see if it works for you.

SCHEDULE BREAK TIMES (OR NAP TIMES!)

Even the brainiest among us have a hard time thinking clearly for hours on end. Schedule out a few times a day (even if it’s just for a few minutes!) where you can focus on yourself, clear your head, and watch some funny dog videos.
