I love using this one first because you can tell a lot about a person based on their answer. Animals, art, poetry, movies, craft beers/wines, food – the conversations you can begin off of this simple question know no bounds.
WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE PLACE TO GRAB A DRINK/MEAL/COFFEE?
This question steers the conversation towards meeting in person. A plus is that while you and your new vina are bonding, you’ll be able to check out someplace new! (Or maybe she says the same place you’re thinking of, you never know unless you ask!)
WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE SEASON/HOLIDAY?
This one puts a new spin on the overdone “____ weather we’re having, eh?”
WHAT IS THE BEST PIECE OF ADVICE YOU’VE EVER RECEIVED?
I really like this question because it takes the conversation to a deeper level and you both can get some words of wisdom out of it.
TELL ME SOMETHING THAT MADE YOU LOL THIS WEEK
This one is a gentle icebreaker and keeps things light. Because who doesn’t love to laugh?
IF YOU COULD GO ANYWHERE IN THE WORLD RIGHT THIS SECOND, WHERE WOULD IT BE AND WHY?
We all have a little bit of wanderlust in our hearts – I really enjoy asking this question because you can find out where someone has been or where they’re dying to go one day. Who knows, maybe her fave destination is yours too!
WHAT IS SOMETHING YOU ABSOLUTELY CANNOT LIVE WITHOUT?
We all have something (or a few things) that answer this question. It’s similar to the common “what would you take with you on a deserted island” but bit more realistic for everyday life.
HAVE YOU EVER MET ANYONE FAMOUS? IF SO…WHO AND WHERE?
This one always leads to an interesting story!
WHAT IS THE BEST BOOK YOU’VE EVER READ/CONCERT YOU’VE EVER BEEN TO/MOVIE YOU’VE EVER SEEN?
