Underworld: Blood Wars (January 6, 2017) Rated R

The fifth installment in the Underworld franchise, Kate Beckinsale returns as Vampire Death Dealer Selene. With the help of her ally, David (Theo James) and his father Thomas (Charles Dance), they try to end the war between the Vampires and Lycans (werewolves) once and for all.

*Best to watch the whole series before watching Blood Wars.

Resident Evil: The Final Chapter (January 27, 2017) Rated R

Starring: Milla Jovovich, Ali Larter, Shawn Roberts, Ruby Rose, Eoin Macken, William Levy, and Iain Glen.

The final installment in the Resident Evil franchise that we’ve been all waiting for is finally here. Similar to Underworld, Resident Evil is best watched in order. Before there was The Walking Dead, Resident Evil’s storyline is based off of the game of the same name created by Capcom. The film picks up right where Retribution ends. Alice, with the help of some familiar faces, must defeat the undead and the Umbrella Corporation without her superhuman qualities. Will the undead and the Umbrella Corporation win, or will Alice and her friends defeat them once and for all?

Fifty Shades Darker (February 10, 2017) Rated R

Starring: Dakota Johnson, Jamie Dornan, Kim Basinger, Luke Grimes, Eloise Mumford, Eric Johnson, Bella Heathcote, Jennifer Ehle, Marcia Gay Harden, Max Martini, Rita Ora, Victor Rasuk, Fay Masterson, Brant Daughtery, and Hugh Dancy

The sequel to the best-selling novel by E.L. James, Ana and Christian return where they left off, apart from one another. Ana is trying to come to grips with being without Christian, but if the trailer above shows anything, she didn’t have to adjust for very long. They are back together and steamier than ever, but now have to face Ana’s sleezy boss and Christian’s exes.

Beauty and the Beast (March 17, 2017) Rated PG

Starring: Emma Watson, Dan Stevens, Luke Evans, Kevin Kline, Josh Gad, with voices from Ewan McGregor, Stanley Tucci, Ian McKellen, and Emma Thompson.

The live version of Beauty and the Beast is now only a few months away and I’m excited beyond words. One of my all time favorite Disney movies and princesses is finally coming to life. When Emma Watson was announced as playing Belle, I literally beamed with joy.

The plot stays true to the original animated movie, but I believe there are a few differences. Emma Watson has stated that she wanted Belle to be a bit more active and it seems she is the inventor instead of her father. But from what we’ve seen in the trailer, everything else is the same and we should expect to see the same musical numbers.

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol.2 (May 5, 2017) Rated PG-13

Starring: Chris Pratt, Zoe Saldana, Dave Bautista, Vin Diesel, Bradley Cooper, Michael Rooker, Karen Gillan, Sean Gunn, Glenn Close, Pom Klementieff, Elizabeth Debicki, Chris Sullivan, and Kurt Russell.

The Guardians return in this sequel with a new adventure and new monsters. Additionally, Peter Quill learns more about his parents. Plus, the introduction of BABY GROOT!

Baywatch (May 26, 2017) Rated R

Starring: Dwayne Johnson, Zac Efron, Alexandra Daddario, Kelly Rohrbach, Priyanka Chopra, Jon Bass, Ilfenesh Hadera, Hannibal Buress, Yahya Abdul-Mateen II, Rob Huebel, and Belinda Peregrin.

Based off of the TV series that ran from 1989-2001, the film has a new cast running along the beach in their respective swimsuits. The Baywatch brand is deteriorating and cutting funds, and they believe to make Baywatch important again they need to bring on a new member. Enter Matt Brody (Efron). He, Mitch Buchannon (Johnson), and Summer Quinn (Daddario), team up together to protect the beach from danger and illegal activities. Plus, who can argue with seeing Dwayne Johnson or Zac Efron shirtless for over an hour?

Wonder Woman (June 2, 2017) Rated PG-13

Starring: Gal Gadot, Chris Pine, Connie Nielsen, Robin Wright, Lucy Davis, Lisa Loven Kongsli

Amazonian princess, Diana Prince (Gadot), meets Steve Trevor (Pine), an American military pilot who crashes in the waters of her island of Themyscira. Diana learns of the ongoing World War I from Steve and decides to leave her island to help end the war, and stop the use of a deadly weapon. With her fighting warrior skills, her golden lasso and silver bracelets of steel to defend against bullets, she is a vina not to be messed with.

Star Wars: Episode VIII (December 15, 2017) Not Yet Rated

Starring: Mark Hamill, Carrie Fisher, Adam Driver, Daisy Ridley, John Boyega, Oscar Isaac, Lupita Nyong’o, Domhnall Gleeson, Anthony Daniels, Gwendolien Christie, and Andy Serkis.

Unfortunately there’s no word yet on the plot of the sequel to The Force Awakens, but with the returning cast and the end of the last movie, we can assume it has something to do with Luke returning and reuniting with Leia, but possibly with some resistance on joining the battle once again.

Pitch Perfect 3 (December 22, 2017) Not Yet Rated

Starring: Anna Kendrick, Rebel Wilson, Anna Camp, Brittany Snow, and Hailee Steinfeld

Another movie that is yet to have a plot, but with the returning cast we know it’ll be a great comedy with popular songs and sisterly love.
