For those who don’t enjoy the winter due to the cold weather – or are tired of spending the holidays stuck at home – what better way to spend the holidays than by going on vacation somewhere warm and/or tropical? Whether you go with your vinas, with family, and/or your significant other, you’ll be sure to enjoy your brief stint away from home and in paradise.
Below are 10 warm and toasty locals where you can dip your toes in the water and forget snow exists for a day or two.

LITERALLY ANYWHERE IN HAWAII
The islands of Hawaii are warm year round. The water is beautifully clear and blue, and the lowest temperature in the winter is in high 60’s. THE HIGH 60’S, GIRLS. Hawaii is usually one of people’s favorite places to go on vacation or as a honeymoon destination. They have various fun activities, great food, and breathtaking sights such as volcanoes and waterfalls. You might have to hike a bit to see the real beauty, but the views and the exercise will be worth it!

MIAMI, FLORIDA
Temperature in Miami hardly ever drop below 60 degrees, even in the winter. The city’s known for the sunshine, beaches, and parties. However there is another part a little south of Miami Beach, known as South Beach, which is technically still part of Miami, but is said to be aimed towards the younger crowd and will be a bit more on the pricier side. A highlight in Miami is the King Mango Strut Parade in Coconut Grove on the last Sunday of December.

SAN JUAN, PUERTO RICO
Not only is the water blue and the weather warm, but you could also enjoy the landscape and architecture that San Juan, Puerto Rico has to offer! And as always, check out the ah-mazing local food and dip your toes in new cultural experiences. For other activities such as casinos, clubs, outdoor activities, or museums, check out the site here.

LITERALLY ANYWHERE IN SOCAL
Cities like Los Angeles and San Diego during the winter can be a little chilly at night, but warm in the day. Don’t let the traffic scare you away from visiting either of these two cities (or any of the smaller towns along the southern coast of California). Along the coast of SoCal are multiple beaches and as you drive along the Pacific Coast take in the infinite blue of the ocean. There are various museums and tourist attractions, but if you’re willing to spend a day or more at amusement parks, SoCal ais also home to Disneyland in Anaheim, Six Flags Magic Mountain in Valencia, Universal Studios near Hollywood, and Knotts Berry Farm in Buena Park. Hungry? Korean BBQ is dirt cheap down there as well and holds the infamous Porto’s Bakery (get the cheese rolls!!!).

US VIRGIN ISLANDS
The U.S. Virgin Islands as a whole is made of up of three different islands: St. Croix, St. John, and St. Thomas. Each has their own activities and because they are under U.S. territory, you can explore each one without a passport if you live stateside. The island of St. Croix (is this the birthplace of La Croix??) has a Crucian Christmas Festival celebrated from December to January 1st. Visit this site for various activities and dining options for all three islands.

BELIZE
Get to know this Central American country’s wonderful culture. Step into your adventure pants and explore the Mayan Ruins, the Belize Barrier Reef, or one of the many jungle and wildlife reserves. Also, Belize has various ways for travelers to navigate their way around, with options such as car, boat, plane, bus, or even by horse!

COSTA RICA
This country is popular for travelers due to its beautiful scenery, beach, and activities such as hiking, zip lining, and bungee jumping. Hike on the numerous trails to see the beautiful sights from above, the waterfalls, and even catch a glimpse of animals that live in the forest. For more information check out this site here.

MACAU
Macau is increasingly becoming the next Las Vegas with multiple casinos, and lights that shine all night. An added plus is the street food that line the streets of Macau late into the night. The city also holds Studio City Warner Bros. Fun Zone, The House of Dancing Water Show, tours into old historical buildings, and if you’re not afraid of heights, the city also offers a skywalk and tower climb on specific buildings.

MALDIVES
My coworker recently went on vacation to Maldives and he was awed by how peaceful and beautiful the island is. He advised me that if you are to travel here in the winter you should aim for end of December to avoid the rain and enjoy the sunny tropical weather. Enjoy numerous water sports, scuba diving, fishing, and watching dolphins!

NASSAU PARADISE ISLAND, BAHAMAS
Nassau is another warm and tropical island that is perfect for vacation whether it’s with your family, kids, or your friends. To the north of the island is also Atlantis, the resort getaway perfect fun for everyone. Casinos, restaurants, shopping, waterslides, and other activities will leave you feeling alive and refreshed.
Whatever destination you travel to, have fun, stay safe, and stay warm! Soak in some sun and culture, and most importantly, get out of the cold!

If we were based in the US, the Bahamas or Hawaii it is.
Now that we are in Singapore, probably the Maldives, Mauritius or the Seychelles.
